Daimler  Dart  (SP250)  '59-'64
Introduced at the 1959 New York Motor Show, the Dart had a 2.5 litre V8 engine
propelling a ladder frame chassis with very light fibreglass bodywork. It could reach 120 mph
but early examples had a tendency to shake themselves to pieces!
Had to change its name early on to the SP250 to avoid legal action from Chrysler.
Daimler were bought by Jaguar in 1960 who set about correcting the chassis flexing problems.
Eventually killed off so as it wouldn't take sales from the E Type.
