 Escort

Escort Mk 5 '90-'92

Although a hugely popular machine with the masses the mk5 did come in for quite considerable criticism from the press and motoring public alike when released. Uninspiring both inside and out were the main cries heard,
along with disappointing handling... but it wasn't that long alas before corrosion reared its ugly head too!
Ford sent for the cavalry pretty quickly and in 1992 the mk5b arrived on the scene to save the day;
though in its final year of production the mk5 topped the UK sales charts!

Escort RS Mk 5b  '92-'95

The original mk5 Escort was not a high point in the annals of the Ford Motor Company... but it was a significant one.
After the reception it received from both the press and the public... no more would mediocre be acceptable,
and from that point onwards Ford strived to always be the best in their class.
Ford announced its newly revised Mk5, the Mk5b in 1992

Escort Mk 6 CL  '95-'00

Escort Mk 6 Saloon  '95-'00

The Mk6 Escort of 1995 was a completely revised car (although its design was based on the previous model)
and was the last in the line of Escorts that stretched back for 30 years....
the last one rolling off the assembly line at Halewood in July of 2000.
It sold for two years alongside its replacement, the 1998 Focus, to allow the public time to accept the new design direction (New Edge) that Ford were then taking.

Escort Mk 6 Cabrio

The cabrio was hugely popular. I always thought they looked good on the road and would give them a second look!

All Escorts also available in 3/5 door versions - Saloon & Estate in light or dark shading.

Puma

Puma 1997 - 2001  (light)

A small & cute rear hatch coupe that was the first fruits of Ford's new philosophy of no more mediocrity.
It's 'new edge' styling caught the publics imagination and it sold in shed loads.
Memorable for it's TV ad campaign featuring scenes from 'Bullitt' and cutting Steve McQueen into a modern setting with the Puma in San Francisco...  hence my illustration set under the Golden Gate Bridge.

Puma (dark)

The Puma was deservedly voted 'Car of the Year' by the 'Top Gear' team in 1997.
A great car to drive and a future classic in the making!

Cougar

Cougar (light shade)

Produced between  1998 - 2002 as the replacement for the Probe; which in turn was a replacement for the Capri, and named after the famous American muscle car from the Ford stable, the Mercury Cougar.
Built in the US and changed to a UK specification in Germany, its 'New Edge' styling was controversial amongst both  press and public alike, so sales were never what you could call 'brisk'.

Cougar (dark shade)

In its first two years of production sales were just below 12,000 units so when the mk2 Mondeo, on which it was based, was superseded by the mk3, the Cougar was quietly dropped from the range.
It was however very under-rated and was a great drivers car!

Fiesta

Fiesta mkIV  3/5 door '95-'99

Fiesta mkIV  facelift 3/5 door '99-'02

Britain's best selling car between '96-'98
1.3, 1.4, 1.8 engines and dozens of trim to choose from.
Shared the same production line as the Mazda 121
1999 and a facelift to give the car Ford's
'New Edge' styling that was then starting to appear.
The last Fiestas to be built in Dagenham.

Fiesta mkIV facelift Zetec S  '99-'02

The all singing, all dancing 'Top of the Range' Fiesta.
1.6 16v Sigma engine pushes out 102 bhp and gives you 113mph.
Altered suspension, anti-roll bars and uprated brakes from the Puma make for a small but very nimble family car.
Sizable following for this model with its very own owners club.

'You can't build a reputation on what you are going to do.'

Ka

KA 1/2/3  Series 1  '96-'08  with Radio Telescope (dark)

Built in Valencia, the Ka was introduced in 1996 as Ford's budget based model built on the chassis of the
Fiesta mkIII . Its 'New Edge' design by Claude Lobo initially divided opinion but it became a familiar sight on garage forecourts until it was replaced by the Ka mkII in 2008

KA 1/2/3  Series 1  '96-'08  on coast (light)

The main drawback for the Ka was its old fashioned 1300cc Kent engine that had started life way back during the 1960's in the Anglia - until 2002 saw the arrival of its overhead cam Duratec engine.
The Ka was a good driving car and became a best seller for Ford. Today it makes for a great first time car!

All Ford models available in Light or Dark shading!

Focus

Focus 3 dr hatch mk1  '98 - '01

'New Edge' style replacement for the Escort following on from the Ka and the Cougar.
A success story from day one with the motoring press praising its handling and comfort.
Huge engine range - 1.4 (74bhp), 1.6 (99bhp), 1.8 (114bhp), 2.0 (129bhp)
The Focus was voted 'Car of the Year' in 1999 and went on to be the worlds best selling motor between '99 and '04

Focus Estate CL mk1  '98 - '01

Focus 3 dr  mk1 series 2  '01 - '04
