First outing of the sporting Mini that was to become a legend.

Mk1 'S' 1963-'64  1071cc.  MkII 'S'  1964-'67  1275cc.
Grand-Prix winning constructor John Cooper persuaded BMC to use his motorsport tuning expertise to transform the Mini into a pocket rocket capable of winning the most prestigious of international rallies.
Winner of the Tulip Rally 1962-1963 and the Monte Carlo Rally in 1964, 1965 and 1967.
Recognisable by the horizontally barred grille.
Cooper had a twin carb engine giving 55bhp, close ratio gearbox giving a top speed of 85mph.
 'S' had 70bhp and 90+ mph.
Highlight of the Mini's career was it's starring role in the classic film 'The Italian Job'.

Mini Clubman

Mini Clubman 1275 GT  1969 -1980

Mini Cooper replacement with a squared off front nose.
59bhp gives 90mph max.
Endearing little motor with a bit of a bite! I always remember them as only being golden yellow in colour.
Not many around... most have succumbed to the tin worm.

Mini Clubman

The squared off nose was controversial at the time with many Mini fans appalled with that new front end.
It does however allow a lot more room for working under that bonnet!
Soldiered on until the arrival of the Metro in 1980

Mini Clubman Estate 1969 - 1982

A roomy little estate that outlived its saloon brother by 2 years and was renamed the Mini 1000HL in 1980 by owners British Leyland.  Bet you haven't seen one of these for a long time!
