 205 GTi  '84-'94 (light)
A Chic little Pinifarina designed hatchback that became the modern classic of the 80's and possibly one of the best hot hatches of all time! Available with 1.6 litre 115bhp or 1.9 litre 128bhp powerplants
Although front wheel drive it was considered by many motoring experts to be as rewarding to drive hard as any equivalent rear wheel drive car then available.
Alas, sales were badly hit during the 90's by high motor insurance premiums due to it being the joy-riders preferred mode of transport and this started it on the slippery downward slope.
Peugeot were never quite able to repeat the same exquisite recipe of the 205GTi with its future models
and so it remains today to be their only car able to capture people's heart and soul.

Total 205 production reached a staggering 5.3 million units!
 

 

 206 - 3 door saloon  '98-'10 
Launched in 1998 as a belated replacement for the 205. It became Peugeot's 'world car'... being built in France, Britain, Czech Republic, Iran, Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Malaysia & China. However, it never really caught the imagination of the public in the way that the 205 did, but still racked up an incredible six million plus units.

Introduced in 2001. It's the 206 with a powered fold-away metal hood.
Popular little Summer runabout, but I'm not sure it looks a well balanced design at that rear end!
