Rover P4

 Rover P4    1954 -1964

75 - 80 - 100 - 95/110 - 105R/105S
'Aunties' came with a bewildering range of engines, but when it's your only model you have to cover all the bases!
Whichever you choose there's plenty of leather and wood to surround you.
Quintessential British saloon car motoring at it's very best.

Rover P5

Rover 3-litre  &  3.5 Saloon  1962 -1973  (Tower Bridge)

The ultimate in ministerial or personal royal transport.
No other British car of the 70's  had the same air of solid worth and self-effacing dignity.
It was held in such high esteem that a batch were kept in storage and used for cabinet duties well into the 80's.
Harold Wilson had a special pipe-rack fitted to one,
whilst the Queen could often be be seen driving round Windsor in hers.

Rover 3.5 Saloon

Rover 3.5 Coupe

Modern and dignified styling by David Bache outside; African Cherry wood dash, thick Wilton carpet and leather almost everywhere else, this was an Edwardian Gentleman's club on wheels. But boy could it move!
184bhp. 0 -50 in under 9 seconds and a top speed of 108 mph.
Britain's best loved luxury saloon of the 70's.

All Rover models available in both Light or Dark shades
Rover P6

Rover P6 2000 Series 1   1963 - 1973

Out with the old... in with the new!
Another winner from the pen of David Bache. The first ever 'young man's' Rover.
Filled with all the latest safety technology and good for 100mph,
here was the car fit for the dawn of the motorway age.... it could cruise in the high 80's and return 32mpg.
A brilliant piece of British engineering. One of the great saloon cars of the 60's... as mould breaking as the Mini!
90bhp. 1978cc. 104mph.
Production   121,072

Rover P6 2000 Series 2    1973-1977  (TC shown)

Plastic grille and a bit of an exterior tart-up from 1973 destroyed the purity of the original design,
but still a fine looking car.
TC (Twin Carburettor) ups power to 124bhp.
American car safety campaigner Ralph Nader paid Rover it's best ever compliment when he said of the P6...
'' how all cars should be built.''
Production  87,803

Rover P6 3500 V8 Series 1   1968 - 1973

Shoe-horning the Buick 3.5 litre V8 under the bonnet of the P6 in 1968
turned it into a genuine Jag-eating machine and much
favoured by Police forces around the country... you just couldn't outrun them!

Rover P6 3500 V8 Series 2   1973 - 1977

More of the same with that plastic grille!
To my mind a great car spoilt by a facelift... shame.
Still an awesome piece of kit though.

Rover P6 3500 V8 Series 2  (light shading)

Downside... Rust and British Leyland's quality control!
Production of 3500   78,057

Rover SD1

Rover SD1 Saloon mk1

Another master-class in the art of automobile design for David Bache.
The long, low Ferrari Daytona inspired lines gave it a real commanding presence on the road.
Whilst it was a superbly engineered piece of machinery the build quality was not
as good as it should have been and therefore in many respects it ended up as a 'nearly' great car.

Rover SD1 Saloon mk2 (wire wheels)

Its Buick 3.5 V8 lump did command respect and whilst the SD1 was a heavyweight machine,
it could be hustled along to well over 100mph in some comfort.
Loved by the Police as you could stuff so much into that boot!.
Alas, even after a decade, production figures never reached 100,000.

Rover SD1 mk2 Vitesse

Respect man!
190 bhp and 125+ mph... Awesome!
