Rover  Mini  with alloys (light shading)

Mk V '84-'89
Now with disc brakes and plastic wheel arches but in a Mk IV body shell.

   Rover Mini 35

Mk VI  '90-'95
Much the same, but 1275 cc single point fuel injection from '91
1994 was a special edition to mark 35 years of Mini.

Rover Mini Cooper (dark shading)

Final Mk VII '96-'00  1275cc with twin point fuel injection engine and a front mounted radiator.
A real hoot to drive.... had one and it was brilliant. However, I wouldn't have liked to have been involved in an accident in it as there was not much in the way of padding and a great deal of metal on show!
If you want a really good one now, be prepared to shell out big bucks.

   Rover  Mini Cooper (light shading)

1994- 2000; BMW under Bernd Pischetsrieder (first cousin once removed from Issigonis)
takes control of ailing Rover and inherits the MINI name.... (a good move for BMW)

Rover Mini Cooper with chromed arches (dark shading)

In the 1990's the Mini became a retro-cool icon especially in Japan where it sold by the shed loads....
but still didn't make money for its makers.

Rover Mini Cooper Sport

The final all singing all dancing model with huge wheel arches and 4 front fog lamps.
It's May 2000 and Rover is broken up and sold by BMW.
A new MG/Rover company is formed by Phoenix with
BMW allowing temporary rights to Rover to sell the Mini in a special run-out model... the Cooper Sport.
October 4th 2000 and the final Mini...  a Red Cooper Sport rolls off the Longbridge production line.
Now commanding big prices!  Total production, 5,387, 862
RIP MINI, a world changing car.

Rover Metro 3 door '80-'94

The Mini's successor, originally sold as the Austin, now given the Rover treatment
At the time it was a cheap and cheerful family hack to do the shopping in....
I know.... we had one!

Rover Metro 5 door

Sorry... not a cool car!

Rover  100 3 door '94-'98

Sold well , but was a bit long in the tooth to say the least by the time it became the 100.

Rover  100 5 door

Looked OK in its 3 door form... but alas not in the 5!!

Rover 200 mk2  '89-'95

Produced in collaboration with Honda, the 200 mk2 set new standards for quality and technology
within the Rover group. Built alongside the Honda Concerto at the Longbridge factory it
was initially powered by the all new 'K' series engines of either 1.4 or 1.6 litres.
A success story from day one, it became the most successful Rover ever built
selling over a 100,000 every year of its production life.
The above Rover 200 print is a digitally produced illustration and is NOT hand drawn by the artist.
Once produced it is placed on a hand drawn background.

Rover 200 BRM

Built to celebrate Rover's association with British Racing Motors (BRM).
Forerunner to the MGZR with a plush red quilted interior and an orange grille.
Very rare with only 795 UK examples produced and becoming highly collectable.
A nice car to own in the future.... if you can find a good one!

Rover 200 mk3  '95-'99

Smaller than the mk1 & 2 due to the need to replace the ageing Metro. Sold well initially, being in the top ten cars for '96-'98 but always played second fiddle to Ford & Vauxhall.

1.4, 1.6, 1.8 and 2.0 diesel engine made for a big range to choose from. Good little cars for their time... outclassed but underrated!

Rover 25 mk1 3dr

Rover 25 mk1  5dr  '99-'04

A face-lifted 200 given the rather pleasant new Rover 75 lights and grille. Updated chassis gives a more sportier handling and feel, but by the turn of the century it was rather outclassed by the competition. However in April 2000 there was a brief surge that put it at the top of Britain's best selling cars, possibly due to patriotic support when BMW sold off Rover for £10.

   Rover Streetwise 3/5dr  '03

The 25 now sporting an increased ride height plus large chunky plastic bumpers. They called it the 'urban on-roader.' I had one for a day as a courtesy car whilst my ZTT was being serviced. I'll say no more!

'Never lend your car to anyone to whom you have given birth.'
                                                                                                            Erma Bombeck

 Rover 45 mk1  '99-'04

A warmed over 400 that was initially a revamped Honda Civic but with all the plush Rover trimmings.
Much under-rated at the time as a nice conservative family car to own!

                                                       Rover 75

Rover 75 Saloon '99-'04  with star spoke alloys shown in coastal setting

Now a car worthy of its Rover badge at last!!
Superb fit and finish with a ride that simply soaked up potholes for fun. Amazing value for money.
Won itself much international acclaim including 'Most Beautiful Car' award!
A grand 'retro style' traditional British car (alas with German underpinnings) for Rover to disappear into history with.

Rover 75 Saloon '99-'04

Rover 75 Tourer  '99-'04

All Rover 75 models with alloys and trims available.

Rover 75 Saloon Facelift '04-'05

Rover 75 Tourer  (Serpent alloys shown) '04-'05
A final face-lifted model with a more aggressive front end that hardy got into its stride before the plug was pulled.

Rover V8 Vitesse

A truly amazing luxury express to end Rover's days!
A 4.6 litre Ford Mustang engine driving the rear wheels shoehorned under the 75 bonnet.
Rare in the extreme... if you ever see one, consider yourself lucky.
Became an instant collectors car!
