                  Vanden Plas 1300
Originally a coach-building company founded in Brussels in the 1880's by Guillaume Van den Plas.
In 1913 an offshoot was set up in Kingsbury and started building Vanden Plas bodies for high class British cars.
Post war Austin took control of it in 1946 and it passed into the hands of BMC in 1960 who used it for badge engineering of its top of the range models.

 Superbly well appointed, but alas it was hardly what one would call a coach-built machine!
Cult cars today if you can find one!

I had one of these with the bit of extra chrome and the digital speedo and sound box.
Sadly I have to admit... I did love that car!
