Vauxhall Viva HA SL '65 - '66

Vauxhall's first small car since 1936. The new Viva and Opel's Kadett were really twins under the skin with a 1057cc. 44bhp. 4 cylinder engine. Alas they suffered badly from corrosion through the cappings along the boot edges allowing in water, causing premature and terminal rust! The sumptuous SL of 1965 was the luxury version for the wealthier end of Vauxhall's clientele with additional flashy chrome bits, full size wheel trims and a better interior trim.
Production reached a staggering 309,538.  Few survived.

Vauxhall Victor FD  VX 4/90   '67-'72

Really just a go faster Victor with Rostyle wheels, a sporty front and a 4 cylinder 90bhp engine...  hence 4/90. Production for the FD series reached 198,000

Vauxhall Chevette L  '75-'84

First small British hatchback to reach the market. The TV jingle announced it as 'It's whatever you want it to be!'
It was assembled in a new purpose built factory at Ellesmere Port in Cheshire.
From its introduction until 1979 it was the UK's top selling hatchback.
Really a Anglicised Opel Kadett with a 1256cc Viva engine. 80mph possible.
Production over its nine year life reached 415,000

Vauxhall Chevette HS Sport  '78-'84

The 2.3 litre 16 valve 'Droop Snoop' rocket. 135bhp. Any colour you liked as long as it was silver with a red stripe!

A rare and sought after model these days.... if you can find one!
